My boyfriend walks all day on concrete and his feet have been hurting a lot. I did a lot of research and compiled a list of recommended shoes for him to try. Then I did some research into shoe stores within an hour's drive. Fontana's had the most variety so that was our first stop. Jayden was so helpful - he started pulling a couple of shoes to get an idea of what features were most appealing. From there, he brought out a lot more based on preference. He was so knowledgeable about brands, applications of features, and very very patient with us. He focused on us for an hour until we decided on 2 pairs and I'm happy to report that those shoes were a great choice :)

Having fallen in love with Ithaca during our son's college years we make it a point to visit at least once a year. We term it our pilgrimage. I walk at least four miles per day which necessitates an annual purchase of running/walking sneakers. Fontana's is well worth the 2 hour drive from Rochester. I purchased my 6th pair yesterday. I'm sorry I didn't make a note to catch the name of our salesperson. Every year I've worked with a different one and each has been very friendly, very knowledgeable and very patient. After presenting five pairs and enduring my indecisiveness I jokingly asked if I was her biggest P.I.A. customer. In addition, there is never an attempt to upsell. In closing, I must note that my wife absolutely loves the Baggallini she bought on impulse last year......So break the chains folks and support local small business!

I went to Fontana's Shoes for the first time today. My wife and I drove from Syracuse, about an hour and 15 minutes drive. Totally worth it. I wanted to try on a pair of Lems. A very friendly and knowledgeable sales associate greeted me. We will be going back for more shoes in the future. Highly recommend!

The service was exceptionally kind and attentive. The salesperson really cared about making sure I was comfortable. I first bought a pair of Dansko shoes, but after a day I realized they weren’t the right fit for me. They happily and patiently helped me exchange them until I found a pair that truly felt comfortable. Highly recommended!

We made the trip to Ithaca just to go here and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! The people working were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We didn’t feel rushed at all during our time there, they even brought out additional insoles to add to the shoes to adjust the fit of the boots we were trying. And they carry some of my favorite hard-to-find brands in person! We will definitely be coming back here whenever we need to buy shoes again. And to get things resoled!

Shawn has done an amazing job as a local small business owner. Anytime I have needed a certain pair of shoes for myself or a family member they have been able to get what I want. 10/10

We visited Ithaca for our vacation when my husband’s shoes were very worn out and got soaked after hiking. We were looking for new shoes ASAP and ran into this store after lunch. They have a lot of selections for hiking and heavy duty shoes with good price. We ended up getting two pairs. The lady who was helping us and the other customer at the same time was extremely nice and efficient!
